Could lax SSA reviews affect New Jersey child benefits?

Social Security Administration pushing online access to info

New Jersey Social Security Disability recipients can now access their benefit information online on the Social Security Administration's website. This new tool will help people who receive or plan to receive survivor, disability or retirement benefits to estimate their future benefits and decide when the time is best to file their claims.

SSDI approvals quicker with new compassionate allowances

New Jersey residents who are considering applying for Social Security disability insurance benefits will be interested to know that applications for certain ailments are fast tracked by the Social Security Administration. Called "Compassionate Allowances," these illnesses allow for quick approval based on medical information that the SSA already possesses.

Readers of this blog will recall our February discussion of the increase in Social Security Disability Insurance application rates that accompanied our country's recent recession.
